Angela Seymour has 14 years of experience as a clinician, providing mental health services in different settings (day treatment, group homes, residential, in home, in school and outpatient). Currently she provides individual therapy in an outpatient setting and works with clients ages 7 to 64. She graduated with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology from LaGrange College in 1997. Then she pursued her Master’s of Science with an emphasis in clinical psychology at Georgia Southern University where she graduated in 1999. Angela obtained her professional license in 2005.
Angela has been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. She likes to use a combination of these treatment models in helping clients to effectively manage and resolve their issues. She also utilizes play therapy when working with children.
Angela believes in the importance of the therapeutic relationship and working collaboratively with clients. She balances validating her clients and encouraging them to change. She also focuses on discovering the root of clients’ issues, understanding that it is a painful journey but necessary so true healing can begin.
